About
The charity sector has endured major challenges over the past year, with funding for small charities plummeting by an alarming £4.6 billion. Despite these difficulties, our passion and dedication remain unwavering. In just 12 months, I have secured over £100,000 in funding for my clients, many of whom began working with me as recently as April.
Meet The Team
Phoenix Humphreys, Fundraising Manager
Raise to Rise was launched at the beginning of 2024 with the mission to make fundraising support accessible and affordable for new and smaller charities. With 96% of UK-registered charities considered small, there is a significant gap in available support, a gap I have experienced firsthand. This was the driving force behind Raise to Rise.
The charity sector has faced significant challenges over the past 12 months, with funding for small charities decreasing by a shocking £4.6 billion. Despite this turbulence, my passion and commitment remain resolute. In just 12 months, I have successfully secured over £100,000 in funding for my clients, many of whom joined as recently as April.
Now, 1 year in, I’m honoured to have been named ‘One to Watch’ at the 2024 Woman Who Solopreneur Awards and named one of the iAlso100 for 2025 by f:Entrepreneur. Furthermore, I take great pride in mentoring a Fundraising Assistant, who joined me in May. Together, we work with incredible charities across the UK, ranging from those serving older people in West Yorkshire to a community hub in Gloucestershire, and support for individuals with acquired head injuries in Oxfordshire.

Award Winning Success
Our very own Phoenix Humphreys was recognised at the Woman Who Achieves awards as the Solopreneur One to Watch 2024!
The Woman Who Achieves and the Solopreneur Awards were founded by Sandra Garlick MBE in January 2016. Sandra’s mission is to create more women in business role models to inspire others. The Awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of women in business throughout the UK doing it on their own.
I’m incredibly lucky to have found my passion in life before hitting the big 30 and with a spot of luck and a lot of determination launch my own business, Raise to Rise. Supporting Founders, CEOs and Fundraisers of small charities brings me so much joy and helping them secure funding to enable the continuation of their missions is immensely rewarding, challenging, at time frustrating but always very fulfilling.
I was so delighted to receive these comments from both Sandra and the judges.
“It was a delight to see Phoenix named by the Judges as a one to watch for the valuable work she does. I wish her every success in the months ahead.”
“Phoenix is a fabulous advocate for charities and tirelessly works to break down the injustices within the charity sector. Her work helping to find funding is awe-inspiring. The judges are excited to see what Phoenix achieves next.”
